Step into a world of rustic elegance and creativity with the first of our Embellished Series – The Embellished Nest Workshop. In this hands-on class, where you will transform a supplied nest and hanger with some typical Australian recycled fencing materials into quirky and whimsical pieces of art for your home, balcony, veranda, or garden. Your personalised nest is perfect to use for a small plant, candle, bird feeder, or anything else you can imagine.
If you’re a beginner, fear not! Our relaxing, inclusive and most of all fun workshop, is perfect for those taking their first steps into the world of upcycling old wire. You’ll be guided through each step of the process, using a variety of materials to bring your vision to life. Get ready to experience the satisfaction of creating something unique with your own hands.

What to Wear?
Comfortable clothes and shoes are best, wire can be very unforgiving on clothing, so nothing fancy is ideal. Kids activities can some times be a bit messy. No Sunday best, just comfy clothes that can take a bit of creativity!
Do I need to wear gloves?
Yes! If you would like to wear gloves, we ask you to bring your own sturdy garden style of gloves for hygiene purposes. Some gloves are available, they are washed after each lesson.
Minimum Numbers of Participants
Please note: Public dates for this class require at least 2 guests to run. In the unlikely event that we don’t reach this number, we’ll cancel the class; in this case we’ll inform you and allow you to get a refund or reschedule, so please watch your email/SMS one day prior to the class
Accessibility
Garden of Wire Creative Workshop is located in one of Oberon’s old buildings and has some accessibility limitations. The entry is via two low wide steps. The toilet is located outside via two steps, a narrow side pathway and is a “typical” Australian brick outhouse with limited space. We understand this is not ideal but will assist with steadying hands if required.
Term and Conditions
- All bookings are final within 72 hours of your workshop — no refunds, reschedules, or credits can be offered.
- If you are late or miss your session (no-show), we are unable to refund or reschedule as materials and staffing are prepared in advance.
